Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Rusizi Town

Start your journey with a scenic drive from Kigali to the western province of Rwanda. Optionally, visit the Kings Palace Museum in Nyanza and cross through Nyungwe National Park on your way to Rusizi. Upon arrival, check in at Emeraude Kivu Resort for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Kahuzi-Biega National Park

After an early breakfast, drive to the Congo border and complete migration formalities. Proceed to Kahuzi-Biega National Park for a briefing at the headquarters before beginning your gorilla trek. Spend 1 hour observing the majestic lowland gorillas in their natural habitat after locating them (trek duration: 2–4 hours). Return to the starting point and transfer back to Kigali.
